MAISON MANESSE - Fine dining
Inside the chaos of my nomad life I try to follow my workout routine wherever I go combined with healthy and sober eating, while on the other hand, I cannot wait to discover lots of new restaurants and delicious food, where I always plan to indulge myself. On our upcoming visit to Zürich, I quickly planned a fine dining experience to surprise my dad and spoil our taste buds.
Maison Manesse is a stylish, tasteful and personal restaurant. It is the latest hot place to eat on the Zürich culinary scene. Maison Manesse is as informal as it is unusual. The predominantly white interior is comfortable and rustic, while the cuisine is creative and aromatic.
The team is young and energetic, but because it knows how to combine that asset with passion, expertise and talent, the restaurant manages to win over the hearts of just about every guest. The driving force behind the restaurant is chef Fabian Spiquel, who along with a keen team led by restaurant manager and sommelier Jean-Denis Roger gives the best of himself every day. This passionate young chef has inherited the love of cooking from his country, Australia. Fabian considers every kitchen a creative playground full of opportunities. He’s a culinary visionary who is dedicated to experimenting. He is always searching for new, unusual and surprising flavor combinations. High-quality produce is a natural prerequisite in Fabian’s cooking. He is particularly fascinated with so-called superfoods – foods with an unusually high content of healthy nutrients. Fabian regularly roams the earth on the lookout for these exceptionally healthy rarities and imports them into Switzerland – sometimes exclusively for Maison Manesse.
Miguel has been breathing restaurant air since his earliest childhood. Gastronomy is second nature to him. He lives, breathes and speaks it; it is his access to the world. Miguel spends most of his holidays at vineyards and in restaurants. We were staring at him all the time while he explain us the next course and wine due to his deep and passionate knowledge. We had the most attentive service we have ever had.
The experience at Maison Manesse is all about discovering, savouring and digesting, especially the exquisite giant gin and tonics, their signature cocktail, which are easily devoured whilst you wait.
